IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Haroa, June 13: The Haroa police station area of North 24 Parganas after a woman alleged that she was gang-raped by a group of local youths. Police have already arrested two accused in connection with the incident, while another accused remains absconding, according to police sources.

The woman, who is around 35 years old, had been staying at her parental home for a long time. The complaint states that on Thursday late night, several local youths allegedly confined her inside the house and sexually assaulted her. The survivor later informed her family members about the incident, following which the family approached Haroa police station.

Police immediately reached the spot after receiving the complaint and launched an investigation. During the operation, two accused identified as Sanjib Baha and Khokon Kahar were arrested the same night. Police are currently conducting searches to trace another accused, Raju Kahar, who is reportedly on the run.

The victim’s family has claimed that a total of four individuals were involved in the alleged crime. Police have registered a case against the arrested accused under charges related to rape and other relevant sections of the law.

The medical examination of the survivor and the collection of other crucial evidence are currently underway. Haroa police have started a detailed investigation, examining every aspect of the case to identify all those involved. The victim’s family has demanded the immediate arrest of all the remaining accused and strict action against them.
