Kolkata (July 12,2023) : Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress on Wednesday after the party's landslide victory in the panchayat elections in West Bengal.

In a tweet, Banerjee said that the results of the panchayat elections were a "clear rejection" of the BJP and the Congress. He also said that the results showed that the people of West Bengal had "rejected the politics of hatred and division".

Banerjee's tweet was a reference to the BJP's campaign in the panchayat elections, which was largely focused on Hindutva and religious polarization. The Congress, on the other hand, was seen as being too weak and ineffective to challenge the TMC. The TMC's victory in the panchayat elections is seen as a major boost for the party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party is now the clear favorite to win the elections in West Bengal.
