Student of Durgapur BC Roy Engineering College Suffering from Mental Illness?
Durgapur (August 26,2023) : Police are probing whether a 21-year-old student of Durgapur BC Roy Engineering College, who was found hanging in his hostel room on Tuesday, was suffering from mental illness. The student, identified as Sourav Mondal, was a third-year student of the civil engineering department. He was found hanging from the ceiling of his room in the hostel on Tuesday morning.
The police were informed about the incident and they rushed to the spot. They recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. The post-mortem report has not yet been released, but the police said that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. However, they are not ruling out foul play and have started an investigation.
Sourav's family members have alleged that he was suffering from mental illness and that he had been undergoing treatment for the same. They have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. The police are questioning Sourav's friends and family members to get more information about the incident. They are also checking his medical records to see if he had any history of mental illness. The case has been registered as a case of unnatural death and the police are further investigating.
