Roy Gaining Traction in Anubrata's Absence
Siuri (August 21,2023) : The importance of Satabdi Roy is increasing in the Trinamool Congress's Birbhum district's Suri Lok Sabha constituency in the absence of Anubrata Mondal. Anubrata Mondal is currently in jail on charges of corruption. Satabdi Roy was first elected MP from the Birbhum Lok Sabha constituency in 2009. She has since won the seat twice more. However, she was not seen to be very involved in the party's organization before.
But now, in the absence of Anubrata Mondal, she is regularly seen to be making changes in the party's organization and giving clear messages to the leaders and workers. In the past few months, she has visited Suri several times and held meetings with party leaders and workers. She has inspired them and called on them to strengthen the party. A section of Trinamool Congress leaders believe that Satabdi Roy could be the party's candidate in the next election for the Suri Lok Sabha constituency in the absence of Anubrata Mondal.
