Murshidabad Clash Survivors Narrate Horror to BJP Leader Sukanta Majumdar

IIE DIGITAL DESK :Powerful display of support for the victims of the recent Murshidabad clashes, BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar met with individuals from the Beldanga region, who had experienced significant trauma due to the violent unrest. The clashes, which occurred in mid-November 2024, left several homes and businesses destroyed, leading to an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the local population.

During his visit, Majumdar took time to listen to the heartbreaking stories of the victims. Many survivors described scenes of chaos, where they were either forced to flee their homes or witnessed their properties being looted and set on fire. One of the victims recounted how a mob attacked their house in the dead of night, destroying everything in its path. Another victim shared how their family had to take shelter in nearby fields, fearing for their lives as the violence raged.

Majumdar expressed his deep concern over the lack of state intervention, stating that the local authorities had failed to act promptly to stop the violence. He also criticized the ruling government for its inability to maintain peace in the region. In response, he vowed to bring the plight of the victims to the forefront of national discussions, urging for justice and swift action against the perpetrators.

Despite the ongoing political tension in the region, with the police citing security reasons to prevent further gatherings, Majumdar's meeting with the victims highlighted the real human cost of the conflict. His visit drew attention to the urgent need for effective governance and a resolution to the escalating violence in Murshidabad.
