South 24 Parganas (August 23,2023) : A man allegedly chewed off his wife's lips in Basanti, South 24 Parganas on Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Priya, was rushed to a local hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

According to the police, the incident happened when Priya's husband, Rajiv, returned home drunk. He started arguing with Priya over a trivial matter. When Priya tried to stop him, he allegedly got angry and chewed off her lips.

The police have arrested Rajiv and are interrogating him.
