Electoral battle in Krishnanagar
IIE Digital Desk : The real political battle in the Krishnangar Lok Sabha Constituency is between the elite and the royal. While the BJP has fielded Queen Mother or Rani Amrita Roy, a descendant of the last ruler of independent Bengal, Raja Krishna Chandra Roy, the TMC has fielded the vociferous Mahua Moitra. The political heat here is turning up, with the BJP putting all its might to defeat the TMC. VO2: On Thursday, the BJP organised a massive road show here. Popular actor turned politician Mithun Chakraborty and Amrita Roy toured the city with Thousands of people queuing along the road to take a glimpse of both their Rani Maa and the actor. Some came dressed as Lord Ram and Hanuman, while others cheered amongst the crowd. VO3: The electorate of this constituency says that the corruption of the TMC government has put the BJP in an advantageous position this time around. BITE - THE MAN IN BLUE T SHIRT VO4: While the TMC was also campaigned throughout the day in various parts of the city. The TMC is keeping the social schemes of its government as the key highlight of their campaign. BITE 2 - Man in White T shirt VO5: The historic city of Krishnanagar is named after Raja Krishnachandra Roy. The huge palace here still stands tall to narrate the history. It was this kingdom that gave Bengal the festival of Jagadhatri Puja. The people of Krishnanagar fondly remember their King who were known to be kind and giving. With the BJP fielding the 39th generation of the king who once lived in the hearts of every people of this constituency, the battle has turned interesting.
