IIE DIGITAL DESK : July 4, 2025, Tecno introduced its latest mid-range offerings—the POVA 7 5G and POVA 7 Pro 5G—in India, positioning them as value-packed devices at competitive prices. The Pro edition stands out thanks to its 30 W wireless charging capability, robust specifications, and eye-catching Delta‑Light interface .

At the heart of both models is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset—built on a 4 nm process—paired with 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage on the base POVA 7, while the Pro variant offers LPDDR5 memory and UFS 2.2 storage.

The POVA 7 Pro features a 6.78-inch 1.5 K AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch sampling, and impressive 4,500 nits peak brightness. The standard POVA 7 opts for an LTPS IPS panel at full-HD+ resolution capped at 900 nits .

Optics-wise, the Pro model houses a dual rear camera: a 64 MP Sony IMX682 sensor and an 8 MP auxiliary lens, while the vanilla POVA 7 features a 50 MP main shooter. Both sport a 13 MP front camera and support 4K video recording along with AI photography modes.

Powering these devices is a massive 6,000 mAh battery, coupled with 45 W wired fast charging, and the Pro adds a unique twist with 30 W wireless charging—a first in this segment.

Design enhancements include the striking Delta-Light interface—a triangular LED light feature on the rear camera module that dynamically reacts to music, notifications, charging, and volume changes .

Software enhancements include Android 15 with HiOS 15, and Tecno introduces “Ella AI,” a voice assistant supporting multiple Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, and Gujarati. Connectivity features include 4×4 MIMO and VoWiFi Dual Pass for improved signal strength and seamless calling .

Both models go on sale via Flipkart from July 10. The POVA 7 5G starts at ₹12,999 (8 GB + 128 GB) and increases to ₹13,999 (8 GB + 256 GB). The POVA 7 Pro 5G is priced at ₹16,999 (8 GB + 128 GB) and ₹17,999 (8 GB + 256 GB) after bank offers.

Compared to the base model (₹14,999–15,999), the Pro delivers a significant feature uplift with its AMOLED panel, wireless charging, Delta-Light aesthetics, and superior memory/storage configuration .

The POVA 7 Pro 5G distinguishes itself within the sub-₹20k segment through its strong combination of display quality, battery charging innovations, AI-driven UI, and camera performance, while the vanilla model appeals to users seeking solid performance without these premium features.
