IIE Digital Desk : Police in Meghalaya have arrested a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader in connection with the attack on the state's chief minister's office on Tuesday. The leader, identified as Chandan Debbarma, has been charged with criminal conspiracy, attempt to murder, and damage to public property. The attack took place on Tuesday morning when a group of people stormed the CM's office in Shillong. The group allegedly threw stones and broke windows. They also tried to set fire to the office.
The police said that the attack was a pre-planned conspiracy. They said that Debbarma had been in touch with the other members of the group and had planned the attack in advance. The police have also arrested two other people in connection with the attack. They are still looking for other suspects. The attack on the CM's office has been condemned by the state government and by the opposition parties. The government has said that it will take strict action against the perpetrators of the attack.
