IIE Digital Desk: A goods train derailed near Bhubaneswar railway station on Friday morning, resulting in the disruption of train services. The incident, which occurred around 8:40 AM, involved five wagons going off the tracks while the train was en route to Cuttack. Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties reported Odisha tv.

The derailment took place within the Bhubaneswar station yard, specifically affecting two wagons that required immediate re-railing efforts. According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) officials, one wagon was re-railed quickly, and efforts were ongoing to re-rail the second wagon. Despite the derailment, there was no significant damage to life or property.

Several express trains experienced delays due to the derailment. Among them were the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express, Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express, and the Amritsar-Visakhapatnam Hirakud Express. The Bhubaneswar-Kolkata route saw partial disruption, while the Howrah-Chennai route remained unaffected.

Railway officials deployed art and crane equipment to the site for restoration work, and normal traffic was expected to resume shortly. The incident highlights the challenges in maintaining seamless rail operations and the quick response required to minimize disruption.
