Massive Landslides Hit Kerala's Wayanad District: 31 Dead, Hundreds Feared Trapped

Kerala, 30 July: A destructive caused natural disaster occured in Kerala and  a massive landslides occured in hilly areas in Mepaddi near Wayanand district, 21 people died and 100 were been trapped but not found out yet. 

Emergency teams such as Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) and National Disaster Responsed Force (NDRF) were working hard to find out to locate and need to rescue the survivers in a critical situation.  The scale of the disaster were prompted with an urgent report to local and national authorities. Already local reports speak that many people were been feared and trapped in a tough situation and for a heeavy rainfall is complicated to rescued people with 250 members of Fire and Rescue Team, Civil Defence, NDRF with Local Emergency Rescue Team were involved to rescue the people from Wayanand District. 

Health Department - National Health Mission has opened a control room and issued helpline numbers 9656938689 and 8086010833 for emergency assistance.
