Kathmandu (June 19,2023) : The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to ban the screening of all Hindi movies in the Kathmandu Valley from Monday, June 19. The decision comes after a dialogue in the upcoming Hindi movie Adipurush, which is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, sparked controversy in Nepal.

In the dialogue, actor Prabhas, who plays the role of Lord Ram, says that Sita is "India's daughter." This has angered many Nepalis, who believe that Sita is a Nepali national hero.
