IIE DIGITAL DESK ; New Delhi | July 30 : Members of the Opposition INDIA bloc on Thursday staged a protest inside the Parliament complex over issues including the alleged question paper leak, police action against students, and the reported use of pellet guns during a recent demonstration. The protest saw the participation of several senior Opposition leaders, who demanded answers from the Central Government and accused it of suppressing the voices of students and the Opposition.

Among those present during the demonstration were Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K.C. Venugopal, Dharmendra Yadav, Sanjay Raut, Kishori Lal Sharma, and several Members of Parliament representing various Opposition parties.

The protesting MPs raised slogans against the Centre and displayed placards questioning the government's handling of the incidents. One of the prominently displayed posters carried the slogan "Order Kisne Diya?" ("Who Gave the Order?"), a direct reference to the Opposition's demand for accountability over the reported use of pellet guns by police during a protest organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). The Opposition has been questioning who authorized the use of pellet guns against the demonstrators and has sought a detailed explanation from the government.

The protest added to the ongoing confrontation between the government and the Opposition during the current Parliament session, with Opposition leaders alleging that the Centre has failed to provide satisfactory answers on issues concerning students and law enforcement.

Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal also took to social media to criticize the government and questioned the absence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah from Parliament during the controversy.

In his post, Venugopal asked how much longer the Home Minister would avoid answering the nation on the issue. He pointed out that while Opposition MPs were protesting at the Makar Dwar entrance of the Parliament building, the Home Minister was not present in the House. He further demanded clear answers from the government regarding who ordered the use of pellet guns against students and why Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi was allegedly prevented from speaking in the Lok Sabha.

Opposition leaders maintained that the police action against students and the reported use of pellet guns were serious matters that warranted an immediate response from the government. They argued that Parliament was the appropriate forum for seeking accountability and insisted that the Centre should explain the circumstances under which such measures were taken.

The Opposition also accused the government of attempting to suppress the voices of students and stifle democratic dissent. According to the protesting MPs, the alleged actions against students raise important questions about civil liberties and the government's approach to handling public demonstrations.

The protest came amid continued disruptions during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, with repeated confrontations between the Treasury and Opposition benches over several political and public issues. As both sides remained firm in their respective positions, the standoff once again dominated proceedings inside and outside Parliament, with the Opposition pressing for answers and the government defending its handling of the matters raised.
