IIE DIGITAL DESK ;Prayagraj, June 3: The shocking incident has come to light in the Dakshin Malaka area under the Kotwali police station limits of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where the bodies of four members of the same family were recovered, triggering panic and concern in the locality. Police suspect that all four victims were murdered. The bodies were discovered after neighbours alerted authorities upon noticing a foul smell emanating from the family’s residence.

Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the scene and broke open the door of the house to gain entry. Inside, officers found the bodies of the homeowner, Virendra Vaishya, his wife Anita Vaishya, and their daughter Meenakshi in separate rooms. During the course of the investigation, police also recovered the body of a male from a locked and vacant shop owned by the family. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Prayagraj Additional Police Commissioner Ajay Pal Sharma said, “We initially recovered the bodies of Virendra Vaishya, his wife, and their daughter from their residence in Dakshin Malaka. Subsequently, another male body was recovered from a locked and unoccupied shop belonging to the family. The deceased is suspected to be their son, Abhishek.”

The officer further revealed that another son of the family, Ashwini, is currently lodged in Kaushambi Jail in connection with a fraud case. During the inspection of the crime scene, investigators discovered a message written on one of the walls that read, ‘Bunty, Babli aur Bahu ne mara hai’ (Bunty, Babli and the daughter-in-law have killed them). Police are treating the message as a significant clue and are examining its authenticity and relevance to the case.

Ajay Pal Sharma stated that forensic experts have been called in to collect fingerprints and other crucial evidence from the scene. Multiple teams have been deployed to review CCTV footage from the surrounding areas in an effort to identify suspects and establish the sequence of events leading up to the deaths.

Investigators believe the victims may have been killed using a heavy object. However, police have emphasized that all angles are being explored and that the exact motive and circumstances behind the deaths will become clearer as the investigation progresses.

The gruesome discovery has sent shockwaves through the neighbourhood, while law enforcement agencies continue their efforts to uncover the truth behind the suspected quadruple murder.
