IIE DIGITAL DESK :Tejasswi Prakash, one of the most recognizable faces in Indian television, recently opened up about her journey with body image and self-acceptance. In a candid interview, the Naagin 6 and Bigg Boss 15 star revealed that she has often been ridiculed for her appearance, including being called “football face” and being criticized for having a body type that many considered “weird.” Despite the hurtful labels, she has chosen self-love and authenticity over societal expectations and cosmetic alterations.
She shared how growing up, she was constantly made to feel out of place because of her body type. From being called too skinny to being compared to inanimate objects, the criticism came from both peers and the public eye. The entertainment industry, known for its emphasis on appearance, added to the pressure, but Tejasswi stood her ground. She admitted there was a time she considered altering her appearance, but eventually decided against it, choosing instead to embrace her natural self.
Tejasswi emphasized that the journey toward self-love is not easy, especially when one is constantly under the public lens. However, her mindset shifted when she realized that changing herself to fit in would never bring true happiness. She now promotes body positivity and encourages others to find confidence in their individuality, stating that loving oneself is the first step to being truly loved by others.
Her relationship with actor Karan Kundrra has also played a supportive role in her self-acceptance. He affectionately calls her "ladoo," a nickname she proudly embraces as a symbol of love and acceptance.
Through her story, Tejasswi continues to inspire many to embrace their uniqueness and reject the narrow standards of beauty.
