IIE DIGITAL DESK ; June 16: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has once again highlighted his wellness philosophy, advising that people should stop eating food after sunset as part of a disciplined lifestyle. The actor, known for his strict fitness routine, recently reiterated the idea that dinner should ideally be finished by early evening for better health and digestion.

Akshay Kumar said that according to traditional wisdom, the digestive “fire” in the body slows down after sunset, and therefore food intake should be reduced or stopped at night. He suggested that people avoid eating after 6:30 pm, a practice he personally follows as part of his lifestyle discipline.

The actor explained that this approach is rooted in ancient practices, where it is believed that the body should not be burdened with heavy digestion during nighttime rest. He also mentioned that late-night eating can affect sleep quality and overall well-being.

Health experts, however, provided a more balanced perspective on the claim. According to nutrition specialists, while early dinners can indeed support better digestion and metabolic health, the exact timing of food intake should depend on individual routines, sleep schedules, and lifestyle needs.

Experts noted that what matters more than a strict cut-off time is maintaining a gap of at least two to three hours between dinner and sleep. They also emphasized that a balanced diet, portion control, and consistency in meal timing are more important than rigid rules.

Akshay Kumar’s wellness advice has often sparked discussions on social media, with many admiring his discipline while others point out that such routines may not be practical for everyone due to modern work schedules and lifestyle differences.
