IIE Digital Desk : U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Friday, and the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together on a range of issues, including the war in Ukraine.
Blinken said that the United States is "proud to have India on our side" in the fight against Russia. He praised India for its "strong condemnation" of the invasion and its willingness to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
Jaishankar said that India is "committed to a peaceful resolution" of the conflict in Ukraine. He called for an immediate end to the violence and a return to diplomacy. The two sides also discussed the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic recovery. They agreed to work together to address these challenges and to promote shared prosperity.
