
IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Washington, June 18: The United States and Iran are now reportedly heading towards a phase of mutual understanding. Memorandum of understanding was signed on Wednesday by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. American officials later disclosed the terms of the agreement through a conference call, revealing the conditions included in the memorandum. However, Iran has not yet issued any official statement regarding the conditions of the agreement.
The United States has publicly shared 14 conditions as part of the understanding aimed at ending hostilities between the two nations. The memorandum was reportedly signed with the objective of ending conflict and moving toward peace between the United States and Iran. US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian are said to have signed the agreement during a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in Versailles, France.
The 14 conditions disclosed by the United States is a commitment by the United States, Iran, and their allied nations to work towards a swift and permanent cessation of hostilities across all parts of West Asia, including Lebanon. Both countries have also agreed to respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Additionally, it has been stated that before the final agreement is signed, the United States and Iran will engage in 60 days of negotiations to further discuss the terms and implementation of the deal.
