IIE Digital Desk : Priyanka Chopra has stepped away from her partnership in the New York City restaurant Sona. The actress, who co-founded the restaurant with chef Maneesh K. Goyal in 2021, announced the news on her Instagram account. "This was a difficult decision for me, but it was the right one for me at this time," Chopra wrote in a statement. "I am incredibly proud of what we have created at Sona, and I know it will continue to be a special place for many years to come."

Sona is a fine-dining Indian restaurant located in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. The restaurant has been praised for its authentic cuisine and its stylish decor. Chopra's decision to step away from Sona comes as she is looking to broaden her hospitality ambitions. She is currently developing several other restaurant concepts, including a chain of Indian street food restaurants.

"I am excited to focus on my other projects," Chopra said. "I am confident that Sona will continue to thrive under Maneesh's leadership." Goyal said he was "disappointed" that Chopra was stepping away from Sona, but he understood her decision. "Priyanka has been a wonderful partner, and I am grateful for her contributions to Sona," he said. "I am confident that the restaurant will continue to be successful."

Sona's future remains uncertain, but Goyal said he is committed to keeping the restaurant open. "Sona is more than just a restaurant," he said. "It is a cultural institution, and I am determined to keep it alive." The news of Chopra's departure from Sona has been met with mixed reactions. Some fans have expressed disappointment, while others have said they understand her decision. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Sona, but it is clear that Chopra's departure will be a major loss for the restaurant.
