IIE DIGITAL: More than two decades after starring together in Andaaz, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta shared a memorable reunion at Wimbledon, rekindling memories of the 2003 romantic drama that brought them together on screen. Their heartfelt meeting, marked by a warm hug and cheerful smiles, quickly became a talking point among fans, who fondly recalled the film that introduced Lara Dutta to Bollywood.
Priyanka shared a picture from the reunion on Instagram, where the two actresses were seen posing together. Dressed in a graceful white halterneck dress, Priyanka embraced Lara, who looked elegant in a blue ensemble paired with a white shrug.
Accompanying the picture, Priyanka wrote, “So good to see my girl.” Lara later reposted the same image and captioned it, “26 years later, happy girls are still the...,” a light-hearted reference to the friendship they have shared since their pageant days.
Directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Suneel Darshan, Andaaz marked Lara Dutta’s Bollywood debut and went on to become a commercial success, earning appreciation for its music and performances.
Besides reconnecting with Lara, Priyanka was also among the celebrity guests at Wimbledon, where she watched the women’s singles semi-final between Karolina Muchova and Coco Gauff from the front row. Although Nick Jonas could not attend the tournament, Priyanka gave him a virtual courtside experience through a FaceTime call. She later revealed that Nick, an avid Wimbledon enthusiast who usually accompanies her, had to miss this year's visit because he was in Los Angeles.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra is preparing for her return to Indian cinema after an eight-year gap with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi, alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The project is currently under production and is expected to release in April 2027.
Meanwhile, Lara Dutta is gearing up for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol. The first instalment of the much-awaited two-part epic is scheduled for a theatrical release during Diwali 2026.
