In a video posted on Instagram, Mukesh Khanna alleged that certain anti-government conspiracies were working behind some protests and described the organisers of such movements as “cockroaches”. His comments have triggered a fresh debate on social media and political circles.
At the beginning of the video, Mukesh Khanna said that although he is currently outside India, he has been closely following developments in the country through Instagram Reels and YouTube. Referring to the younger generation, especially Gen Z, he said that he had earlier expressed concerns about the future of the country if the responsibility of leading India falls on their shoulders after the next 25 years.
The actor said that he had previously raised questions about the mindset and direction of the younger generation. According to him, the future of the country depends on how the present generation understands its responsibilities and responds to important national issues.
Talking about the NEET question paper leak controversy, Mukesh Khanna claimed that the student protest that began over the issue was no longer limited to students alone. He alleged that certain people were using students as a platform to achieve political objectives.
He said that those who brought students onto the streets were responsible for the situation and claimed that the students were allegedly encouraged to use abusive language. According to him, the alleged aim behind such activities was to create instability against the government.
However, the actor’s allegations regarding protesters using firearms have not been supported by any verified government information or reliable evidence so far.
Continuing his criticism, Mukesh Khanna used strong language against those allegedly involved in organising such protests. He compared them to cockroaches and said that just as people remove cockroaches from their homes, such elements should also be removed.
He further claimed that the movement was not genuinely focused on the students affected by the NEET controversy but was instead a sponsored movement driven by specific motives. His remarks have drawn criticism as well as support from different sections of society.
The actor also issued a warning to students and young people involved in such protests. He claimed that they were being used by others and advised them to reconsider their actions. According to him, continuing on such a path could create difficulties in their future, including challenges related to employment opportunities and visa applications.
In the caption of his Instagram video, Mukesh Khanna wrote a message urging people to remove such “cockroaches” before it becomes too late, which further intensified the discussion surrounding his comments.
The controversy comes after a recent student protest where some participants were accused of raising objectionable slogans targeting political figures and security personnel. The incident led to nationwide debate over the language used during demonstrations.
Following the controversy, reports emerged that an FIR had been registered against a woman named Ruchika over allegations of making offensive remarks directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the protest.
Amid this ongoing debate, Mukesh Khanna’s latest remarks have added another layer to the political and social controversy surrounding student protests, freedom of expression, and the role of young people in public movements.
