IIE DIGITAL DESK : The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, bringing a major shift in the ongoing controversy surrounding his exit from the film Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar. The decision comes shortly after Ranveer Singh issued a legal notice challenging the federation’s action.

The dispute began when Ranveer Singh opted out of Don 3, which reportedly led to dissatisfaction within the production team and triggered intervention from FWICE. The organisation had earlier issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor, advising affiliated members not to work with him until the issue was resolved.

The situation escalated when Ranveer Singh responded legally, sending a formal notice to FWICE questioning its authority and the validity of the directive. This legal move prompted discussions among multiple industry bodies, including producers’ associations and artistes’ unions, to step in and mediate the conflict.

Following these interventions and internal deliberations, FWICE decided to withdraw the directive, stating that the matter should be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding rather than confrontation. Industry representatives have also emphasised that the decision aims to maintain harmony within the film ecosystem and avoid further escalation of disputes between artists and workers’ unions.

FWICE clarified that the withdrawal of the directive does not indicate a victory or defeat for any party but reflects a collective effort to resolve misunderstandings amicably. The organisation also indicated that it remains open to further discussions with all stakeholders involved in the dispute.

With the ban now revoked, attention has shifted back to the legal and professional aspects of the conflict, as both sides prepare for further correspondence and possible settlement discussions. The incident has highlighted ongoing tensions in Bollywood regarding creative differences, contractual obligations, and the influence of industry bodies on film productions.
