Woman, driver killed in car accident in Jhargram
Jhargram (August 22,2023) : A woman and her driver were killed in a car accident in Jhargram on Tuesday. The accident occurred on NH-60 near the Deulti Barrage. The woman, identified as 35-year-old Rita Sarkar, was a resident of Kolkata. She was travelling to Jhargram with her driver, 40-year-old Suresh Mandal, when their car collided with a truck. Both of them were killed on the spot.
The truck driver has been arrested and is being questioned by the police. The cause of the accident is not yet known. However, it is suspected that the truck driver may have been driving under the influence of alcohol. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered at the Jhargram police station. The police have urged motorists to be careful while driving and to avoid drunk driving. They have also asked people to report any suspicious activity to the police.
