IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Howrah, August 5: Police conducted a late-night raid in the Mansa Colony area under Liluah police station in Howrah and seized a large quantity of illegally stored Bengali country liquor and beer. A young man identified as Tarzen Paswan was detained in connection with the alleged illegal liquor trade. The operation was carried out late on Tuesday night following a tip-off received by the police.

According to police sources, officers received confidential information about the alleged illegal storage and sale of liquor at premises located at 166/14, Mansa Colony. Acting on the information, a police team reached the area and conducted a search operation. During the raid, officers reportedly recovered a total of 50 bottles of liquor and beer from the premises.

The recovery has raised concerns among local residents, while police have launched an investigation into the alleged illegal liquor business. Preliminary findings suggest that the illicit trade may have been operating in the area for a considerable period. Investigators are now trying to determine how the liquor was being procured, stored and supplied to customers.

According to information gathered during the preliminary investigation, a person named Bharat Paswan had allegedly been associated with the illegal liquor trade in the past. Police sources further claimed that his sons were allegedly involved in continuing the illegal business at present. Investigators are now examining the possible role of other individuals who may have been connected with the operation.

Following the raid, Tarzen Paswan was detained by the police and questioning began. Investigators are seeking information about the alleged liquor network, including its source of supply and the people involved in distributing the liquor in the locality. Police are also examining whether the operation was limited to the particular premises or was part of a larger illegal liquor network operating in and around the area.

Officials are questioning the detained youth to determine where the liquor was obtained from and who supplied it. Investigators are also trying to identify other individuals who may have played a role in the alleged business. The information obtained during the interrogation is expected to help police trace the supply chain and establish the extent of the illegal operation.

The seizure of 50 bottles has prompted police to intensify their investigation into the alleged illegal liquor trade in Mansa Colony. Officers are also looking into whether similar activities are being carried out at other locations in the area. If evidence of a wider network emerges, further raids and arrests may follow.
