GTA to hold discussion meeting next month
Siliguri (July 25,2023) : The Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) will hold a discussion meeting next month with the state government and other stakeholders to discuss the development of the Darjeeling hills.
The meeting will be held on August 10 in Darjeeling. The state government will be represented by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her cabinet colleagues. The other stakeholders include the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
The GTA was formed in 2011 under an agreement between the state government and the GJM. The GTA has jurisdiction over the Darjeeling hills and some parts of the Terai region. The meeting is expected to discuss a number of issues, including the development of infrastructure, the promotion of tourism, and the creation of jobs.
