Siliguri,West Bengal (June 29,2023) : A delegation of anti-TMC forces in Darjeeling hill met Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar in Siliguri on Thursday. The delegation was led by Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leader Bimal Gurung. The delegation met the governor to discuss the current political situation in Darjeeling hill. They also raised the issue of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) and demanded that it be dissolved.

"We have met the governor and apprised him of the current political situation in Darjeeling hill," Gurung said. "We have also demanded that the GTA be dissolved." The governor assured the delegation that he would look into their demands. The meeting between the delegation and the governor comes at a time when the political situation in Darjeeling hill is tense. The GJM has been demanding a separate Gorkhaland state for years, and there have been several rounds of violence in the hills.

The GTA was formed in 2011 as a temporary measure to address the demands of the Gorkhas. However, the GJM has been unhappy with the GTA, and has been demanding that it be dissolved. The meeting between the delegation and the governor is seen as an attempt to defuse the tension in Darjeeling hill. It remains to be seen whether the governor will be able to resolve the issue.
