IIE DIGITAL DESK : The upcoming Redmi K100 series is reportedly set for an earlier-than-expected launch timeline, with fresh leaks indicating that Xiaomi may unveil the lineup in the third quarter of 2026, potentially as early as September. The development suggests a major shift in Xiaomi’s long-standing release strategy, where Redmi devices traditionally follow the company’s main flagship launches.

According to industry tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Redmi K100 series could arrive before the Xiaomi 18 lineup, which is also expected around the same period. If both series launch close together, it would mark an unusual overlap in Xiaomi’s portfolio strategy, potentially creating internal competition between its premium and performance-focused smartphone segments. 

The Redmi K100 lineup is expected to include multiple models, with the standard Redmi K100 reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, while the higher-end K100 Pro Max may feature the more advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. This positioning indicates Xiaomi’s continued focus on delivering flagship-grade performance at relatively competitive pricing within the Redmi sub-brand. 

Reports also suggest that Xiaomi may adjust its usual launch calendar to avoid overlap, as both the Xiaomi 18 series and Redmi K100 series are currently tipped for September 2026. Analysts believe the company could shift one lineup to October to maintain clear segmentation between its flagship and performance-oriented devices. 

Early leaks hint that Xiaomi may expand the Redmi K100 portfolio further with additional variants and even follow-up devices later in the year, making 2026 a highly active product cycle for the brand.
