iPhone 18 Pro: A Look at Expected Changes Before Apple’s Official Launch

IIE DIGITAL: Apple’s next generation iPhone 18 Pro is expected to arrive in the coming months, but the biggest discussion around the upcoming flagship is not only its features or design changes. The expected price of the device has already become a major talking point among Indian buyers.

According to several leaks and reports, Apple may increase the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro in India by around ₹5,000 compared to its previous model. Although the company has not officially confirmed the pricing, rising component costs and increasing demand for advanced AI hardware are believed to be the major reasons behind the possible price hike.

Expected iPhone 18 Pro Price in India

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to start at around ₹1,39,900 for the base storage variant in India. If these estimates turn out to be accurate, the device will be slightly more expensive than the previous generation Pro model at launch.

For users looking for higher storage options, the price could increase further. Reports suggest that the 256GB variant may cost around ₹1,44,900, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max could start at approximately ₹1,54,900.

The expected price rise comes amid increasing costs of memory chips and advanced components, especially due to the growing demand for artificial intelligence based technologies. Apple has also recently adjusted prices of some other products in India, making a similar change in the iPhone lineup possible.

iPhone 18 Pro Expected Launch Date

Following Apple’s traditional launch schedule, the iPhone 18 series is expected to be introduced in September. The launch event could take place during the first half of the month, followed by pre orders shortly after the announcement.

While Apple has not revealed any official details about the upcoming lineup, multiple leaks have already provided insights into the possible design, specifications and features of the new Pro models.

Design and Display Updates

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to continue with a familiar design approach rather than introducing a complete makeover. The device may retain the 6.3 inch display, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could continue with a 6.9 inch screen.

One of the noticeable changes could be a smaller Dynamic Island. Reports suggest that Apple may reduce the size of the display cutout, offering users more screen space and a cleaner viewing experience.

Performance and AI Features

The biggest performance upgrade is expected to come from Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which is reportedly based on TSMC’s advanced 2nm manufacturing process.

The upcoming processor is expected to bring faster performance, improved power efficiency and enhanced AI capabilities. The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is also expected to launch with iOS 27, featuring upgraded Apple Intelligence functions and a more advanced version of Siri.

Camera and Battery Improvements

Photography could receive significant improvements with the iPhone 18 Pro series. Instead of a complete camera redesign, Apple is reportedly working on a manual variable aperture system for the primary camera sensor.

The feature could allow users to control the amount of light entering the lens, providing more flexibility while capturing images in different lighting conditions.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is also rumoured to feature a larger battery, with some reports suggesting a capacity of around 5,500mAh. The bigger battery may result in a slightly thicker design and increased weight compared to previous models.

Final Expectations

While all details surrounding the iPhone 18 Pro remain based on leaks and industry reports, the upcoming flagship is expected to focus on improved performance, advanced AI features, better photography capabilities and longer battery life.

Apple is expected to reveal the official details during its launch event later this year, where the final price, specifications and availability will be confirmed.
