IIE DIGITAL DESK ; New Delhi, June 5: Infinix has officially announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone, the Infinix Smart 20, in the Indian market. The company confirmed that the handset will make its debut on June 8 at 12 noon, with sales expected to begin shortly afterward through Flipkart. Ahead of the official unveiling, Infinix has revealed most of the smartphone’s key specifications through a dedicated microsite, giving consumers a comprehensive look at what the new device will offer.

The Infinix Smart 20 is being positioned as a significant upgrade over the previous-generation Infinix Smart 10. One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming smartphone is its large 6.78-inch display, which comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. This marks an improvement over the 6.67-inch display featured on the Smart 10. The combination of a larger screen and a high refresh rate is expected to deliver smoother scrolling, better responsiveness, and an enhanced gaming and multimedia experience for users.

The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate chipset. The processor will be paired with 4GB of RAM, providing the device with the capability to handle day-to-day tasks, multitasking, and casual gaming more efficiently. Although Infinix has not released detailed benchmark figures, the Helio G81 Ultimate is expected to offer a noticeable performance improvement compared to the Unisoc T7250 processor that powered the Infinix Smart 10. For users upgrading from older entry-level smartphones, the new chipset could translate into smoother app performance and a more responsive overall experience.

Battery life is another key area where the Infinix Smart 20 aims to attract buyers. The smartphone is equipped with a 5,200mAh battery and supports 15W wired charging. In addition, it also offers 5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to use the phone as a power source for compatible devices. According to Infinix, the handset can provide up to 39 days of standby time under ideal conditions. While actual battery performance will vary depending on usage patterns, the large battery is expected to comfortably support a full day of regular use for most users.

The Infinix Smart 20 also brings improved durability to the budget segment. The device carries an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and water splashes. This feature is increasingly becoming important for consumers seeking greater reliability in everyday conditions.

Another notable feature is Infinix’s Ultra Link technology. This feature enables compatible Infinix smartphones to communicate wirelessly over distances of up to one kilometre, even in situations where traditional mobile network connectivity may be limited. The inclusion of this technology could prove useful in specific communication scenarios and emergencies.

The Infinix Smart 20 adopts a modern appearance with a textured rear finish and a rectangular camera module that houses dual rear cameras along with an LED flash. The company has confirmed that the smartphone will be available in four colour options: Cloudline Blue, Polaris Titanium, Shadow Black, and Sunlike Orange. Despite housing a large battery, the handset maintains a slim profile with a thickness of just 7.7mm, making it comfortable to hold and operate with one hand.

Infinix has not yet disclosed the official price of the Smart 20, industry observers expect it to remain within the affordable smartphone segment. The Infinix Smart 10 was introduced at a starting price of Rs 6,799, and many expect the new model to be priced below Rs 8,000. However, rising component costs and broader price increases across the smartphone industry could influence the final pricing strategy.

If Infinix manages to maintain competitive pricing while delivering the confirmed specifications, the Smart 20 could emerge as an attractive option for first-time smartphone buyers, students, and budget-conscious consumers. Nevertheless, prospective buyers may prefer to wait for complete details regarding the camera hardware, software support policy, and final retail pricing before making a purchase decision.

Large 120Hz display, upgraded processor, sizeable battery, IP64 durability rating, and modern design, the Infinix Smart 20 is shaping up to be one of the most feature-rich budget smartphones scheduled to launch in India this month.
