IIE Digital Desk : Napoli secured their fourth Serie A title and second in three years with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari on May 23, 2025. Goals from Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku sealed the win at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, propelling Napoli to 82 points, just one ahead of Inter Milan, who also won their final match against Como.

The title race was a two-horse contest, with Napoli leading Inter Milan by a single point going into the final round. Both teams secured 2-0 victories, but Napoli's superior goal difference ensured they clinched the Scudetto. 

Scott McTominay's acrobatic bicycle kick in the first half set the tone for Napoli's triumph. The former Manchester United midfielder, in his debut Serie A season, has been instrumental in Napoli's success, scoring 12 league goals and providing 4 assists. His performances earned him the Serie A Player of the Season award. 

Romelu Lukaku added a second goal after halftime, ensuring Napoli's victory. The Belgian striker's contributions throughout the season, including 14 league goals, were pivotal in Napoli's title run. 

Under the guidance of manager Antonio Conte, Napoli demonstrated resilience and consistency. Conte, who previously won Serie A titles with Juventus and Inter Milan, became the first coach to secure the Italian championship with three different clubs.

The victory sparked jubilant celebrations in Naples, with over 450,000 fans gathering in the city center to witness the title-clinching match on giant screens. The streets were filled with flares, colorful smoke, and chants, as supporters celebrated their team's achievement.
