IIE DIGITAL: Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy celebrated a historic double triumph at the 4th Hockey India Women Academy Championship 2026 – Zone A & B, winning both the Sub Junior Women and Junior Women titles in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

In the Sub Junior Women final, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy, Sonepat 2-2 (3-1 SO) in a thrilling encounter that was decided by a shootout. Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy captain Diya gave her team an early lead in the 6th minute, but Geethasri Nammi quickly levelled the score for Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy in the 9th minute.

Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy regained the advantage through Gunjan (44'), but Jagriti Yadav (55') scored late to force the match into a shootout. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy held their nerve as Bhavika, Saroj Mansi and Geethasri Nammi successfully converted their attempts, while goalkeeper Paridhi Mewada delivered a confident performance to secure a 3-1 shootout victory and the championship title.

Earlier, Raja Karan Hockey Academy secured the Sub Junior Women bronze medal after defeating Cheema Hockey Academy 4-3 in a high-scoring contest. Tanvi scored twice (23', 36'), while Riya (31') and Deeksha (33') added one goal each. Cheema Hockey Academy fought back through a hat-trick from Harpreet Kaur (12', 19', 39'), but it was not enough to deny Raja Karan Hockey Academy the medal.

The Junior Women final saw Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy produce another remarkable comeback against Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy, Sonepat, winning 3-2 to complete their double championship success. Pritam Siwach Hockey Academy took control early with goals from Ritika (6') and Manjinder (35'). However, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy staged a stunning turnaround in the second half, with Tanvi (41'), Nousheen Naz (52'), and captain Kanak Pal (54') scoring three goals to seal the title.

In the Junior Women bronze medal match, Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy, Bhagta defeated Raja Karan Hockey Academy 0-0 (3-1 SO). After both teams failed to find the net during regulation time, Shikha, Punita and Shweta Kumari scored in the shootout. Goalkeeper Muskan played a crucial role under pressure, helping Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy, Bhagta claim the bronze medal.

With two championship victories in a single day, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy emerged as the standout performers of the tournament, showcasing the depth and talent of women’s hockey development in India.
