IIE DIGITAL DESK ; Kolkata, October 5: The suffering a heavy defeat against Brazil, the Indian football team will return to the Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata for another major international fixture. This time, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and his teammates will face two-time world champions Uruguay. The highly anticipated match will be played tomorrow, Tuesday, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 pm.

India suffered a 4-0 defeat against five-time world champions Brazil at the same venue on Saturday. However, the Indian team produced a promising display during the first half and impressed the home crowd with its attacking intent. The combination of Manvir Singh and Ryan Williams was particularly appreciated by the spectators. Against Uruguay, India will be desperate to open its scoring account and put up a stronger performance.

Uruguay, however, will enter the contest as favourites given their current form. The Uruguay side, coached by Diego Forlan, recently recorded an impressive 4-2 victory over South Korea in their last international friendly. Their attacking strength and experience will present another major challenge for the Indian defence. India had also managed to hold Panama to a 1-1 draw in their first friendly last month, giving players such as Apuia and Anwar Ali confidence ahead of another difficult encounter.

For fans who want to watch the match from home, the game will be available on Sony Sports and Sony Aath. The match will also be broadcast with Bengali commentary on Sony Aath, allowing Bengali-speaking viewers to follow the action in their preferred language.

The match will also be available online through the SonyLIV app and the SonyLIV website. However, viewers should note that the match will not be available for free on the SonyLIV platform. A valid subscription will be required to watch the game online. Fans can also follow all the latest updates related to the match through the TV9 Bangla website.

The state government has already started distributing free tickets for the India vs Uruguay match. Those who had purchased tickets for the Messi event held at the end of last year will be eligible to receive the complimentary tickets. The free ticket distribution will continue until 5 pm today, Monday. Eligible fans will need to produce a valid government-issued identity document along with proof of their offline ticket for the Messi match.

The Uruguay squad will, however, be without one of its biggest stars, Federico Valverde. The Uruguay and Real Madrid midfielder has been ruled out after suffering a Grade 3 sprain to his left ankle and has not been included in the team for this match.

Despite Valverde's absence, Uruguay have several world-class players in their squad. Jose Gimenez, Ronald Araujo, Lucas Torreira, Rodrigo Bentancur and Darwin Nunez are among the prominent names expected to provide Uruguay with considerable strength and experience.

With a two-time world champion side arriving in Kolkata and India eager to bounce back after the Brazil defeat, football fans are looking forward to another high-profile international encounter at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan. The spotlight will once again be on the Indian team as Gurpreet and his teammates attempt to produce a memorable performance against Uruguay.
