IIE Digital Desk: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday said that religious leaders have no business in politics and that they should limit themselves to their religious institutions.

Rao was speaking at a public meeting in Karimnagar district of Telangana. He was responding to a question about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which is being proposed by the BJP-led central government.

Rao said that the UCC is a divisive issue and that it would not be implemented in Telangana. He said that the state government would continue to follow the Personal Laws of different religions.

Rao also said that religious leaders should not interfere in politics. He said that they should focus on their religious activities and leave politics to politicians.

Rao's comments come at a time when the BJP is trying to push for the UCC across the country. The BJP has said that the UCC is necessary to ensure equality among all citizens. However, the opposition parties have opposed the UCC, saying that it would violate the religious freedom of citizens.

It remains to be seen whether the BJP will be able to implement the UCC across the country. However, Rao's comments indicate that the UCC is unlikely to be implemented in Telangana.
