IIE Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Athens on Friday, August 25, on a day-long visit to Greece, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 40 years. Modi was received at the airport by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The two leaders held a bilateral meeting and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas, including trade, investment, and culture.

Modi also addressed the Indian community in Athens, where he spoke about the close ties between India and Greece. He said that the two countries are "natural partners" and that they have a "shared history and culture."
