IIE DIGITAL DESK ; New Delhi, June 19: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent participation in the G-7 Summit and his visit to Slovakia have further highlighted India’s growing importance on the global stage. According to the party, the visit marked the first-ever trip by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia, where Prime Minister Modi was conferred with the country’s highest civilian honour, symbolising a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two nations.

The BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Friday, party’s national spokesperson and Member of Parliament Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi said that it was during the tenure of the BJP-led government that India first received the opportunity to participate in the G-7 Summit as a special invitee nation. He stated that the process had begun during the prime ministership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2003.

Trivedi said that India played a significant role in the latest G-7 Summit as well and held several bilateral meetings with participating countries to further strengthen mutual cooperation and diplomatic engagement. He claimed that India proposed a new initiative called the “International Mobilisation Partnership for Accelerating Connectivity and Trade (IMPACT),” which attracted interest among the G-7 member countries. According to him, this reflected India’s increasing influence and stronger presence in global affairs.

The BJP spokesperson further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has so far been honoured with 33 international awards from different countries across the world. In his view, these recognitions represent the growing global appreciation, trust, and acknowledgment of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

Sudhanshu Trivedi also said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has continuously earned the confidence of major global powers. He further referred to France’s decision to create opportunities for 30,000 Indian students every year in the field of STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. According to him, the move will not only strengthen India-France ties but also open new avenues of cooperation in education, technology, and innovation.

The BJP maintained that India’s increasing participation in international forums, strategic partnerships with major nations, and expanding educational and technological cooperation demonstrate the country’s rising diplomatic stature and its growing role in shaping global discussions.
