Delhi Rain Caused Heavy Fatalities, Flooded Rains, and Damaged Buildings

IIE Digital Desk: Three people have lost their lives as heavy rain battered Delhi, causing widespread chaos. The torrential downpour which is led to severe waterlogging across the city's roads, creating traffic screamed and travel disruptions. Several buildings suffered damage due to the relentless rain, with some areas experiencing flooding. Emergency services were stretched thin as they responded to numerous distress calls, rescuing stranded residents and addressing structural damages. A 67 year old man is also died in a building collapsed in Sabji Mandi area of North Delhi. 

According police source, one identified in building Anil Kumar Gupta, and found inside the building, injured and admitted at St Stephens Hospital. Police told that in diversing the caused, some people brought in the hospital in Lal Bahadur Shastri, and doctors declared them as death. The heavy rainfall also impacted public transportation, with delays and cancellations affecting commuters. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors and avoid non-essential travel as they work to clear the waterlogged areas and restore normalcy. This deluge underscores the city's ongoing struggle with inadequate drainage infrastructure, which often fails to cope with heavy rains, leading to such disruptions. The meteorological department has predicted more rain in the coming days, prompting further alerts and preparedness measures across the capital.

Traffic is been affected on Rohtak Road with carriageaway from Nangloi towards the Tikri Border and vice-versa due to heavy waterlogging and potholes on road in Mundka. Five cars are damaged when in a wall of school which is collapsed in central Delhi's Daryaganj on Wednesday night.
