Conjunctivitis outbreak forces schools in Arunachal Pradesh to shut

Itanagar (July 25,2023) : Schools in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh have been shut for a week following an outbreak of conjunctivitis, an eye infection, among school students. The district health department said that over 100 students have been affected by the infection so far. The students have been complaining of red, itchy, and watery eyes.

The health department has advised the students to avoid sharing towels, handkerchiefs, and other personal items. They have also been asked to wash their hands frequently. The district administration has also stepped up sanitization measures in schools and other public places.
