IIE DIGITAL DESK ; New Delhi, May 26: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices have once again been increased, following recent hikes in petrol and diesel rates, adding further pressure on transport costs across major cities in India. On Tuesday, CNG prices were revised upwards in Delhi as well as Mumbai and several other urban centres, with an increase of ₹2 per kilogram.

The latest revision has made CNG more expensive for consumers who rely on it as a key fuel source, particularly for auto-rickshaws and other public transport vehicles. With this hike, concerns have risen over a possible increase in auto fares, which could directly impact daily commuters and the cost of transportation in metropolitan areas.

Delhi, after the price revision, CNG is now being sold at ₹83.09 per kilogram. In Mumbai, the price has climbed to ₹84 per kilogram, reflecting a similar upward trend in fuel costs across cities. This marks the fourth consecutive increase in CNG prices since mid-May, highlighting a continued upward pressure in energy prices.

Earlier increases were recorded on May 15 and again on May 23, indicating a persistent pattern of rising CNG rates within a short span of time. The repeated price hikes have raised concerns among consumers and transport operators, as fuel costs continue to impact overall inflation and daily expenses.
