BJP Leader Attempts Suicide During Facebook Live Over Rape Accusation
Lucknow (July 31,2023) : A BJP leader in West Bengal attempted to commit suicide during a Facebook Live session on Saturday. The leader, identified as Debendra Nath Pradhan, was accused of raping a woman. Pradhan was live on Facebook when he began to drink poison. He then collapsed and was rushed to a hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The woman who accused Pradhan of rape said that he had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. She said that she had filed a complaint with the police, but no action had been taken. Pradhan's suicide attempt has sparked outrage in West Bengal. The state's chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, has ordered a probe into the matter.
