Darjeeling, [27^th May 2023]: A recent collaborative study conducted by the esteemed Bose Institute and IIT Kanpur has revealed distressing findings regarding the air quality in Darjeeling. The study indicates that the air in this picturesque hill town is heavily laden with PM10 pollutants, posing a significant threat to the local environment and public health.

According to the research, the concentration of PM10 particles in Darjeeling's air has reached alarming levels, crossing the safe limits defined by environmental standards. PM10 refers to particulate matter with a diameter of 10 micrometers or less, which can easily be inhaled and cause adverse health effects.

The findings of the study highlight the urgent need for attention and action to mitigate the pollution crisis in Darjeeling. As an environmental journalist, it is crucial to raise awareness about the potential consequences of such high levels of PM10 pollutants on both the environment and the well-being of the local population.
