Kolkata (July 06,2023) : Rujira Banerjee, the wife of Abhishek Banerjee, the national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress, has appealed to the Supreme Court against the summons issued to her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED had summoned Rujira Banerjee in connection with a money laundering investigation into the coal scam case. In her appeal to the Supreme Court, Rujira Banerjee has argued that the ED's summons are "illegal and arbitrary" and that she is being "targeted" by the central government.

She has also argued that the ED has not provided her with any evidence to support the allegations against her. The Supreme Court will hear Rujira Banerjee's appeal on July 12. Rujira Banerjee has appealed to the Supreme Court against the summons issued to her by the ED.
