Kolkata (June 28,2023) : Presidency University has agreed to scrap the disciplinary committee that was set up to investigate students who had protested against the new dress code and code of conduct. The university has also agreed to withdraw all charges against the students. The decision was taken after a meeting between the university authorities, representatives of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), and a delegation of students.

The students had been protesting against the new dress code and code of conduct, which they said were discriminatory and violated their rights. The university has also agreed to form a new committee to look into the students' grievances. The committee will be headed by a retired judge. The scrapping of the disciplinary committee and the withdrawal of charges against the students is a major victory for the students. It is a sign that the university is willing to listen to the concerns of its students and to address their grievances.
