IIE DIGITAL DESK : West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited the New Town residence of veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty on Saturday morning. The meeting, which lasted for a considerable time, concluded with both leaders addressing the media and expressing mutual admiration and political solidarity.
Mithun Chakraborty did not hold back in his praise for the Chief Minister. He stated emphatically that West Bengal could not have a better Chief Minister than Suvendu Adhikari. According to the veteran actor, Adhikari has been working tirelessly since the very moment he took oath, and he confidently assured that no one else could lead the state more effectively.
Suvendu Adhikari, in turn, acknowledged Mithun Chakraborty’s relentless efforts in the political arena. He credited the actor with playing a pivotal role in reviving what he described as Bengal’s lost pride and in energizing nationalist supporters across the state. Adhikari highlighted that during the election campaign, Mithun conducted the highest number of public meetings and roadshows. Over the past several months, he reportedly engaged in continuous indoor meetings and worked at the grassroots level, focusing on micro-level organizational strategies.
The Chief Minister further revealed that while he may have been chosen by the BJP and blessed by the people to assume office, several key figures were instrumental behind the scenes in shaping that outcome. Among those names, he said, Mithun Chakraborty holds a place of high priority. Recounting a recent exchange, Adhikari shared that when Mithun expressed a desire to meet him, he responded by saying that instead of the actor coming to see him, the Chief Minister “created by him” would visit in person.
Adhikari arrived at Mithun’s New Town residence on Saturday morning. The meeting symbolized not just political courtesy but also the visible strengthening of ties between the actor-turned-politician and the state’s top leadership.
Mithun Chakraborty reiterated his strong endorsement, stating with full assurance that there could be no better Chief Minister for West Bengal. He emphasized that from the moment Adhikari took his oath, he has been consistently focused on governance and development, reinforcing his belief that the state is under capable leadership.
