Dengue Strain in Kolkata Less Risky, Say Doctors
Kolkata (August 03,2023) : Doctors in Kolkata have said that the current strain of dengue in the city is less risky than previous strains. The doctors said that the current strain is the DEN-3 strain, which is less virulent than other strains such as DEN-2 and DEN-4. This means that people who are infected with the DEN-3 strain are less likely to develop severe symptoms or die.
However, the doctors have warned that people should still take precautions to avoid mosquito bites, as even the DEN-3 strain can cause serious illness in some cases. The doctors have also said that the current outbreak of dengue in Kolkata is likely to continue for a few more weeks.
