IIE Digital Desk : Bollywood actors Sonakshi Sinha and Ishaan Khatter have voiced their concerns over attempts to communalize the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people, including tourists, tragically lost their lives. Their statements come amidst a surge of online commentary attempting to frame the incident along religious lines.

Sonakshi Sinha, who recently married a Muslim actor, took to social media to express her distress over the deliberate attempts to create a Hindu-Muslim divide in the wake of the tragedy. She emphasized that such acts of violence should be condemned unequivocally, regardless of the victims' or perpetrators' religious identities. Sinha urged people to focus on unity and empathy rather than falling prey to divisive narratives that seek to polarize society.

Ishaan Khatter, who had visited Pahalgam just weeks before the attack for a film shoot, echoed similar sentiments. He shared his deep connection with Kashmir and its people, recalling their kindness and hospitality. Khatter expressed his anguish over the loss of innocent lives and the impact of such violence on the region, which he described as often called "heaven on earth" but deeply wounded by such acts. He passionately appealed to the public to direct their anger towards achieving justice and not towards fostering blind hatred and religious animosity.

Both actors stressed the importance of recognizing the shared humanity of all individuals and not allowing such tragedies to be exploited for communal polarization. They called for unity, sensitivity, and thoughtful reasoning in the face of such violence, urging people to rise above the divisive agendas of those who seek to fragment society.

Their statements highlight a growing concern among many public figures and citizens regarding the misuse of tragic events to fuel religious discord. As the nation grapples with the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, voices like Sinha and Khatter's serve as a reminder to focus on solidarity, justice for the victims, and the rejection of communal narratives that undermine the social fabric of the country.
