Kolkata Film Production Comes to a Standstill as Directors Declare Indefinite Strike
Kolkata, July 29, 2024: Film production in Kolkata has come to a halt as directors declare an indefinite cease work from today. This move is in solidarity with director Rahool Mukherjee, whom technicians refuse to work under. Prominent filmmakers and producers are backing the strike, protesting the technicians' boycott of Mukherjee. The Directors Association of Eastern India demands an amicable resolution. The Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India had previously barred Mukherjee for violating norms. The impasse affects all Bengali film, serial, and web series shoots.
