IIT DIGITAL DESK : Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is set to make her Hollywood debut with the psychological horror film Blessed Be the Evil. The film is slated to begin shooting in New York City this summer, with the production team opting for American locations to mitigate potential disruptions from recent industry tariffs.

Directed by Anurag Rudra, Blessed Be the Evil explores the harrowing journey of a Christian couple grappling with the emotional aftermath of an abortion. Seeking a fresh start, they purchase an abandoned farm, only to encounter a malevolent force that transforms their lives. Ranaut will star alongside Hollywood actors Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone, daughter of Sylvester Stallone, in pivotal roles.

This announcement marks a significant milestone in Ranaut's career, as she has previously expressed a preference for promoting Indian cinema over Hollywood. In 2021, she advocated for discouraging the dominance of American films in Indian theaters, emphasizing the importance of supporting regional industries to preserve cultural identity. Ranaut's participation in Blessed Be the Evil reflects a shift in her stance, embracing international collaboration while continuing to champion Indian cinema.

As the film gears up for production, industry observers are keen to see how Ranaut's distinctive acting style and the film's unique narrative resonate with global audiences. Blessed Be the Evil is poised to be a significant entry in the genre of psychological horror, with a compelling storyline and an international cast.
