IIE DIGITAL: Actress Sai Pallavi has shared her heartfelt happiness after filmmaker Rajkumar Periasamy won the National Award for Best Direction for the Tamil blockbuster Amaran. The actress, who played the lead role in the film, said she feels as proud and emotional as if she had received the honour herself.

Reacting to Rajkumar Periasamy’s gratitude post, Sai Pallavi praised the director’s dedication and the challenges he overcame while bringing the story of Amaran to life. She said the journey was not easy, but his commitment and respect towards the story remained inspiring throughout.

Sai Pallavi wrote that she had witnessed the filmmaker’s entire journey leading up to the prestigious recognition and expressed her pride in his achievement. She added that she was celebrating his National Award win as her own.

The actress also congratulated the film’s music composer G V Prakash and editor Kalaivanan for receiving National Awards for their contribution to Amaran. She praised their hard work and the role they played in making the film a memorable cinematic experience.

Earlier, Rajkumar Periasamy expressed his gratitude after receiving the Best Direction honour at the 72nd National Awards. He revealed that winning the National Award had been a dream since the time he decided to become a filmmaker.

The director said that while creating Amaran, his primary focus was to help audiences connect emotionally with the lives of Indian Army soldiers and their families. He thanked the jury for recognising the film and said the award has encouraged him to continue exploring meaningful stories.

Rajkumar Periasamy dedicated the prestigious Golden Lotus award to the family of Major Mukund Varadarajan, whose life inspired the film, and to all soldiers of the Indian Army. He also extended his gratitude to the cast, crew, producers and everyone associated with the project.

Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, Amaran received widespread appreciation for its emotional storytelling and tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Indian Army personnel. The National Award recognition has added another milestone to the film’s successful journey.
