IIE Digital Desk : Ishita Shukla, the daughter of Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan, is all set to join the Indian Air Force (IAF) under the Agnipath scheme. The 21-year-old is a graduate in computer science and has been a member of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) since she was in school. She is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Ravi Kishan is a BJP MP from Gorakhpur and has been a vocal supporter of the Agnipath scheme. He said that he is proud of his daughter for following her dreams and serving the nation.

"I am very proud of my daughter Ishita for joining the Indian Air Force under the Agnipath scheme. She has always wanted to serve the nation and this is her dream come true," said Ravi Kishan. "I am sure she will make us proud." The Agnipath scheme is a new recruitment scheme for the armed forces that was launched in June 2022. The scheme allows young people between the ages of 17.5 and 21 to serve in the armed forces for a period of four years. After four years, only 25% of the Agniveers will be retained in the armed forces on a regular basis.

The scheme has been met with protests from some quarters, who have raised concerns about the short duration of service and the lack of job security for Agniveers after their four-year term. However, the government has defended the scheme, saying that it will provide young people with an opportunity to serve the nation and gain valuable skills. Ishita Shukla is one of the many young people who have decided to join the armed forces under the Agnipath scheme. She is an inspiration to others who are looking to serve the nation.
