Domkol (10th June 2023) : Trinamool was accused of detaining left supporters and preventing them from submitting their nominations for panchayat elections. The incident happened in Domkol BDO office premises. On the second day of the nomination period, BDO office premises were allegedly surrounded by Trinamool party supporters, who stopped the Left activists from entering the Domkal block office in Murshidabad. On the other hand, the Trinamool alleges that the Left is deliberately trying to create confusion. On Saturday, the left-trinamool clash created a tense situation in the area. The police force of Domkal police station reached the spot. On the other hand, Trinamool-affiliated miscreants allegedly attacked BJP workers in Lovepur in Birbhum. On the second day of submission of nominations for panchayat polls, such a picture was seen in several districts.

According to local sources, Trinamool supporters started gathering at Domkal BDO office premises from Saturday morning. By 10 o'clock in the morning, Trinamool people gathered at the Domkal block office premises. When Left and Congress workers-supporters tried to enter the block office to file their nominations around 11 am, they were allegedly stopped. The local left leadership has alleged that the entire BDO office premises have been surrounded by Trinamool people. Attempts to submit nomination papers by force led to clashes. A fight started. The policemen who were present at the spot could not bring the situation under control. After some time, more police forces reached the spot. Leftists alleged that one of their workers was injured. They were rescued and taken to hospital. According to the latest news, the work of submitting nominations has started again under strict police guard.
